BRANCHING OUT

College is all about groups. You are put in an orientation group. When you move into your dorm, you get put into that group. During recruitment you have our recruitment counselor group. Even when you join your sorority (another group) you get assigned a bid day buddy who introduces you to her group of friends.

It is easy to get comfortable in these groups, but that is really not what college is all about. There are several ways to get involved in other groups on campus to expand your outreach and to give you a different outlook. Your campus has several clubs that are for people with specific interests. The cool thing is that you may be the only person in your dorm or sorority that is in that club so you get to meet new people and learn a little more about your campus.

While it's fun to get to know other people, it is always nice to know that you have a group of people there for you at a moments notice. But why not expand that group a little? Different people can provide different perspectives and you can do the same for them!

Some people run for student government or Panhellenic positions while others join campus ministries or honor societies. What are some ways that you have branched out in college?
