Last week tragedy struck in my apartment. I was getting ready for work on Monday morning and grabbed something out of one of the bathroom drawers. When I did a new bottle of Julep nail polish came tumbling out and onto my ceramic tile floor. There was navy blue polish everywhere. I got the glass bottle and everything cleaned up before my cat (cat lady right here) could investigate.
Then on Friday night I was putting up the nail polishes I had on my night stand, which equaled about 7 bottles (I have a problem). As I was putting the last few in, the last bottle, my brand new OPI Germany Collection Don't Pretzel My Buttons fell onto the ceramic tile.
These are the departed colors :(
This whole experience wouldn't be so bad if 1) I didn't have to clean up the remains. Note: nail polish is not the easiest thing to clean. 2) I wasn't trying to save money by buying polishes instead of getting my nails done every couple of weeks. I am much happier saving $20 by doing my own nails, but when I lose that much in polish it is a little sad.
Never the less, I am now looking out for ways to store my nail polish. The bathroom drawer was working when I had only a few bottles. Now my collection is much larger.
These are some of my favorite colors I have right now.
How do you store your nail polish? I am looking for a space saver (I live in apartment), inexpensive, and easy.
Thank you for sharing your method, Hannah! The spice racks from The Container Store are so great. I have had several people recommend these to me. I just wish I knew where to store them. It isn't practical for me to put them on my vanity in the bathroom because it is so small (and taken up by hair products).
ReplyDeleteI will definitely look into the scrapbook organizer! That is a GREAT idea!!
Head down to your local dollar tree and get a cute vase or candle holder and a glass candlestick. Take E6000 glue and glue the vase/candle holder onto the candlestick. It's easily customized, and gives height to your vanity! :)
