Outside of making life happen, I have just been taking it easy and kinda being a little pathetic. I allow myself to act like a baby when I do get sick, because I never get sick. So I have been nursing myself back to health with the help of lots of cough medicine, orange juice, and Christmas movies. Surprisingly, there are a lot that I haven't seen at all or it has been years. (Fun fact: I saw Christmas Vacation for the first time ever on Netflix a few weeks ago. Yes, I am a little disappointed in my parents.) Once I realized that, I have been watching all sorts of Christmas movies to fill the void in my childhood.
However, there is nothing quite like your favorites to get you through the season. When I was home for Thanksgiving I got to watch some classics with my family and that was incredible! Here are a few of my favorites:
It's A Wonderful Life | Again, this is one that I only saw recently (as in the past two years). I remember it being on the TV when I was younger, but I never actually sat down and watched it. If you haven't done so either, please do yourself a favor! It is such a great movie!!
Home Alone | Despite the fact that it is a Christmas movie, Home Alone was my favorite movie overall when I was growing up. I cannot even tell you how old I was the first time I saw it. Even now, I find myself laughing at all the same parts. The same goes for Home Alone 2.
The Polar Express | This one took a bit of coercing for me to watch because I thought the animation was a bit creepy. My ex-boyfriend finally sat me down and made me watch it. Then, I cried like a little baby. I love the story and cannot wait to watch it with my family this year.
The Santa Clause | I remember when the first movie came out when I was a kid and seeing it in theaters. I have always wanted to try Judy's hot cocoa (like really Disney... where is the recipe for it?). In recent years, thanks to ABC Family, I have watched the sequels and loved those too. My friends make fun of me for it, but who cares?
Elf | If Elf isn't on your list of favorite Christmas movies, we cannot be friends. Just kidding! But I love this movie. Number 1, it's hilarious! Number 2, Buddy the Elf just puts you in the Christmas spirit. Number 3, Zooey Deschanel sings with Will Ferrell. Number 4, the tweetable quotes. I got to watch it with my little sister when I was home and loved every minute of it!
Clearly, I am missing out on some classics (thanks again parents) so tell me, what are your favorite Christmas movies?
