Every year about this time I realize how pale I am. I want to break out the cute spring dresses so badly, but I haven't had enough time to commit to laying out to soak up some sun (and the sun hasn't exactly been out to play). Another dilemma I face is tanning in general. Yes, I could go to the tanning bed, but it is so dangerous. I used to go as a teenager, but I never really enjoyed it like a lot of people I know. Thankfully it is not for me, because, like I've already said... it is so dangerous!
Luckily for us pale girls, sunless tanning lotions have developed so much so we don't have that orange or splotchy look. I remember feeling so bad for girls in high school that used it because they would turn orange and have splotches of white intertwined along with abnormally orange hands.
One of my friends absolutely refuses to tan in any way and she introduced me to a sunless tanning lotion a few years back. It was sold at Whole Foods oddly enough. I loved it! Unfortunately, they have since stopped carrying it and I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me. But, it gave good coverage (read: no splotches) and I began seeing results within the week.
Now, fast forward a few years later and I am sitting here writing this with pale skin. I've done some research and asked around for recommendations and found two amazing products for sunless tanning.
Jergens Natural Glow is definitely something I am going to try. I have used it sporadically in the past, but hated the scent that it had. Apparently, the scent is gone so I am going to give this a try again. What I didn't know is that Jergens offers an entire line of their Natural Glow products. They have products for your face and body, products that foam and just lotions, products with and without additional SPF, etc. They even have a nifty Glow Advisor on their website so you can get the product you want.
Estée Lauder also has a pretty incredible product with their Bronze Goddess Self-Tanning Milk (Can we just talk about this name for a second? I'm sure there have been pale goddesses in the past, too ;) ) I have heard this is a really great product and you begin seeing results within an hour!
Have you tried sunless tanners in the past? What is your go-to brand?
I had the same feelings about Jergens. I used to love the way it worked but hated the smell and waiting mostly naked for like 20 mins for it to dry and soak in. I might try it again...
ReplyDeleteI tried it this morning and while it took a while to dry the new smell is so nice! I honestly cannot wait to use it again.
ReplyDeleteI really like Clinique Self Sun. I saw a review of it on www.selftanning.com and have used it ever since :) P.S. That website has a TON of useful info on self tanning.
ReplyDeletehello!,I like your writing so much! proportion we keep in touch extra approximately your post on AOL? I require a specialist on this space to resolve my problem. May be that is you! Having a look forward to look you.
