As sorority women we often get caught up in the competitions that our chapters participate in. For the most part our calendar is comprised entirely of competitions - Greek Week, Homecoming, Recruitment, Derby Days, etc. It is no secret that there are chapters out there that have bad blood with each other. We get so wrapped up in ourselves that it is hard to remember that being a sorority woman is a bond in itself.
It was not until I graduated and started my current job that I was thrilled to meet any sorority woman regardless of her affiliation. This sounds terrible, but I had not seen the bigger picture yet. Now I work with Panhellenic women from different affiliations on a daily basis. I love hearing a different perspective.
This blog and my job truly has opened my eyes to what it means to be a Panhellenic woman. I now find myself equally as excited to meet a Sister vs. a Panhellenic Sister. This is definitely a lesson I wish I would have learned during my active years, but now I carry this with me.
