I don't know about you, but my hair will not do that sock bun thing at all. My hair actually laughs at me as I try to do it. Fortunately, I have a lot of hair. I wanted to wear my hair in a bun so I have opted for the "top knot".
There are a lot of tutorials on how to achieve this look. I can do it and it takes at most 3 minutes. Here is what I do:
1. Pull your hair into a high ponytail.
2. Take your ponytail into your hand and tease the back with a brush.
3. Begin wrapping the hair around itself creating a bun.
4. Once the hair is completely in a bun, use another ponytail holder and wrap it around the bun.
5. Use bobby pins to tuck in any loose strands you might not want seen.
6. Pull out some hair to frame your face.
I like my top knot to be a little messy unless I am doing something for work, like the picture below.
